Garden Walk.

My craft for this week relates to Memorial Day, so I will be posting it later on Monday.

For now, I thought I would share a few pictures of my gardens.

Spring is my favorite time of year, and even though I know this is an art blog,
I love the creativity and many colors and forms to be enjoyed in gardening.

After all, gardening is a from of creativity and crafting through God's supplies of dirt, sunshine, rain, and vegetation.

In my shade gardens, I have a fondness for hostas.

Ferns are fronds of gracefulness as well.

I just reworked this garden into my herb and strawberry garden.

My front garden has been a work in progress this spring.

Another favorite: the cheerful mountain bluet.

I never tire of Irises of every variety...

as well as the bold vibrance of the climbing clematis vine.

I see some weeds in this garden that need to be pulled.

I hope you didn't mind this slight diversion from pencil and paper.

    1. Yes, the rain seemed to really make them all burst out suddenly. I love walking around when everything is so lively green.

    1. Oh, I love them too. There is so much variety to them as well, especially the hostas. Tiarellas, Heucherellas, and Heucheras are fun shade plants as well. I love shady gardens...easier to enjoy in the hot sun. :) You have a super week, too!

  12. I love the hardscapes you have incorporated into your garden space. I envy the hosts - even with Booda the Wondercat/Vole Hunter, I 've lost every host I've planted unless nuzzled against large tree roots. Thanks for sharing your garden. I'm visiting from We Are that Family for WFMW.

    1. Oh, that is a shame! I didn't realize those varmints had a thing for hostas. :( I'll have to keep an eye out for them. Thanks for you nice comment and for stopping in!

  13. Your gardens are beautiful! What is that lacy plant/bush in the 8th picture? I love it. I have a lot of hostas around my house, too. Some of them are gigantic!

  14. It is fun how big some of the hostas get! The bushes in the 8th pictures are: the yellow one on the left is a type of spirea called Spiraea thunbergii 'Ogon' ('Mellow Yellow'). The orangish lacey plant on the right is actually a small Laceleaf Japanese Maple Tree. I am pretty sure it is called Acer palmatum 'Otto's Dissectum'. They are so incredibly beautiful. There is such variety in the laceleaf maples that are amazing. Here is a link to some that are fantastic. http://www.maplestoneornamentals.com/cat/index.cfm?id=Japanese_Maples&page=5

    1. I have never purchased from this site so I cannot say what their plants are like; just thought I'd share the great pictures. They look like a great store though.
